About Fruitful Life Formation

God created you to be fruitful. Therefore, when you are not living a fruitful life, you feel unfulfilled, unsatisfied, and lost. Fruitful life formation must be the top priority of every human being, or his or her life will be wasted.

The top priority of life, according to Jesus is: "Strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. " (Mat. 6:33) When Jesus was asked what the kingdom of heaven was like, he explained that the kingdom of heaven is like a seed that falls into the earth and die and become a fruitful tree (Matt. 13 and John 12). Each and every one of us is like a seed created by God with a potential to become a huge tree that yield exponential results of the divine plan. In other words, a fruitful life is the present manifestation of the future kingdom of God.

Then Jesus has one more important message in the above statement. He said when you strive to be fruitful, "all these things" will be given to you as well. What are "all these things" that he was talking about? If you read the context, you would know that "all these things" mean food, clothing, shelter, and everything you need to make a living. However, many people strive backward. They strive for "all these things" first, before they strive for the fruitful life--the present manifestation of the future kingdom of God.

What is a fruitful life like? A fruitful life is a life full of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Gal. 5:22-23a) These are the qualities characteristics of the fruit of the spirit. Therefore, a fruitful life can only be attained through a proper way of spiritual formation. In fact we don't even have a life if we don't take care of our spirituality. Jesus said, "It is the spirit that gives life; the flesh is useless" (John 6:63).

The difference between Fruitful Life Formation and other spiritual formation methods is our clarity in focus. Most spiritual formation methods claim to attain Christ-likeness. We think such goal is too general and vague because being Christ-like can be many things, and it can even lead to cultic deviation. Fruitful Life Formation focuses simply on bearing the fruit Jesus bears, namely: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Fruitful Life Formation also makes the process of spiritual formation more focused, and more biblical. Instead of guessing, intellectualizing, theologizing, or inventing a way to attain Christ-likeness, we simply use Jesus teachings on the subject of the path to the kingdom of heaven, summarized in his teaching of the Beatitudes, as our path to attain fruitfulness. Thus, we focus on eight essential stages of spiritual formation taken from the eight Beatitudes Jesus taught. Do these simple eight steps cover the entire spiritual formation? You will be surprised to find out.

This website is to gather resources and connectivity for fruitful life formation. We hope to form an online community of people who would like to join this journey.
